If You Are Arriving At Sharjah

Arrival in Sharjah is very convenient. After the aircraft lands, aero-bridges directly lead the passengers to the Terminal. In the event that the aircraft has to park at a remote bay, a bus transports them to the entrance of the Passenger Terminal.

You will first need to proceed to the Immigration checkpoint, which is easily located through vivid signposts.

Duty Free shopping is possible for arriving passengers before proceeding to Immigration.

Mosque

Prayer areas are available at the Airport Main Passenger Terminal Transit Area as well as at the Departure Area (Ground floor). Mosques for prayer are also available in both East and West Cargo Terminals 1 and 2.

Baggage Claim

After clearing from Immigration, your next stop is at the baggage area. Screen signs indicate very clearly flight numbers enabling you to find the luggage belt on which your personal luggage will arrive.

Free Baggage Trolleys

Self-push baggage trolleys are easily available inside the arrival terminal for passengers, free of charge.

Customs

After you collect your baggage, you will be required to proceed to Customs. Baggage is screened through the X-ray machine to scan for prohibited items.

Prohibited Items
Items that are not permitted into Sharjah by the arriving passenger include:

• Psychotropic substances
• Endangered wildlife species
• Firearms
• Obscene articles and publications
• Uncooked edible seafood, fruits and vegetables from cholera infected areas

Duty Free Imports

• 2000 cigarettes and 400 cigars and 2 kilograms of tobacco
• 150 grams of perfume
• 2 litres of spirits and 2 litres of wine, provided the passenger is a non-Muslim and atleast 18 years of age.

- Restrictions: Permit from local authorities required for firearms

Porters

For extra help, the passengers can get the help of porters available at the airport. This service is offered free of charge.

Taxi

Airport Taxis are easily available outside the arrival dome. Passengers are advised to settle the correct taxi fare before hiring it. The fare within the city ranges from Dhs.5/- to Dhs.10/- depending upon the location. The taxi fare from Sharjah to Dubai ranges from Dhs.15/- to Dhs. 25/-. The fare from Sharjah airport to the city is Dhs.20/-.

Airport Buses

Airport buses are available for transfers to the city centre at a nominal charge.

Car Pick-up

If you have made arrangements with a friend, relative or a travel/tour operator to receive and transfer you, you will have to meet them outside the arrival dome. The car park area is connected to the airport by underground subway.
