and cargo activities.
The Department of Civil Aviation is responsible for
policy making, processing requests for traffic rights,
offering licenses to Travel Agents, ensuring the implementation
of ICAO recommendations, maintaining standards at all
levels and representing the Sharjah Government within
the umbrella of the UAE federation on bilateral issues.

Director Abdulwahab M.Al Roomi stresses: "While the
airport is extremely cost-effective with a reasonable
pricing policy, we always look at providing a top quality
service for all users of Sharjah International Airport,
including airlines, tour operators and passengers".
The reputation of the airport has been enhanced with
the opening of Sharjah Airport International Free Zone
(SAIF) in September 1995. Sharjah open sky policy has
resulted in air connections to virtually every capital
city in the world.
Innumerable developments have taken place in the airport:
"Our commitment to the growth of the airport has been
whole-hearted and can be seen in the investment we have
made towards the development of our infrastructure and
facilities", says Mr. Al Roomi. |
