Sharjah
Scandinavian holidaymakers
have shown interest in exploring Sharjah
particularly as an international, cultural
and heritage tourist destination, Mohammed
A Al Noman, director, Sharjah Commerce
and Tourism Development Authority, suggested
yesterday.
The heightened interest
follows the authority’s participation
in the Sweden International Travel and
Tourism Exhibition (TUR 2003) held in
Gotenborg from March 20-23. |
A conference in Sharjah
delegation held alongside was well attended
by media personnel, with discussions
focusing on plans to establish a continuous
link between the emirate and the Scandinavian
travel and tourism markets. “The
Sharjah travel and tourism sector is
moving into another progressive phase,
alongside developments in terms of new
hotels, shopping malls, airport facilities,
transport and national airlines,”
Al Noman asserted. |
