SHARJAH International
Airport on Tuesday said it notched up
a record recently handling a Lufthansa
B747-200F carrying 77 tones of cargo
from the US in an hour, demonstrating
the airport’s ability to take
care of big cargo efficiently.
Among the shipment was a 25-tonne bottle and spare parts producing
plant for Al Tajir Glass Industries.
The entire shipment was offloaded and was ready for delivery
within 34 minutes of the flight’s
arrival.
“Sharjah
Airport has comprehensively proved that
by availing of its ground

handling facilities,
agents and distributors can save substantially
in terms of time and money,” Sharjah
Airport Authority Freight Center Director
Ali Kombargi.
He said the airport’s
strategy is to work closely with its
customers as partners to ensure best
options to clients to help them grow
their business.

said Lufthansa Cargo Regional Manager
