With
two ports on either side of the emirate,
Sharjah is in a unique position to save
12-18 hours of sailing time for sea cargo.
As a shipper importing goods from the East,
your ship can call at Port Khorfakkan on
the Indian Ocean, and not come round the
strait of Hormuz as is required by all other
major U.A.E. ports. No other emirate in
the country can offer this unbeatable advantage. As
port Khorfakkan and port Khalid are both
managed by a single ports authority, it
is very easy to transport containers from
the Indian Ocean coast to the Gulf, and
vice versa. The twin ports are linked by
a modern multilane highway for fast access.
Shipping lines can call at either of the
ports and exchange goods between the two.
Feeder vessels can collect cargo from either
port for onward distribution, saving lines
both time and money.
